SUMMARY
In 2024, ActionAid Rwanda (AAR) implemented its programmes under Country Strategic Paper III (2024–2028), focusing on strengthening women’s and girls’ resilience for social and economic justice and empowering women smallholder farmers to improve food security and climate resilience through agroecology. Key achievements included community campaigns against gender-based violence and unpaid care work, support for time-saving technologies, girls’ leadership and rights education through camps, and the establishment of girls’ rooms in schools to promote menstrual hygiene and school retention. AAR also supported women farmers with agricultural inputs, technologies, agroecology training, tree planting and livestock rearing to improve productivity, access to organic manure and climate resilience. These achievements were made possible through the collaboration and support of donors, partners, government stakeholders, staff and volunteers.
