In 2025, ActionAid Rwanda (AAR) implemented its programmes under Country Strategic Paper III (2024–2028), focusing on strengthening women’s and girls’ resilience for social and economic justice and empowering women smallholder farmers to improve food security and climate resilience through agroecology. Key achievements included community sensitisation on gender-based violence, strengthening women’s knowledge of their rights, family conflict management and positive parenting, as well as promoting agroecological practices among women farmers to improve agricultural productivity, market access and household incomes. Despite challenges posed by climate shocks and funding constraints, AAR continued working with partners and communities to advance gender equality, social justice and sustainable livelihoods, while strengthening partnerships and resource mobilisation to scale up its interventions in 2026.
